Terms of Use
Last updated: 11 September 2026
These terms cover the hosted GammaGrid service at app.gammagrid.io. Using it means you accept them. They are deliberately short, because a document nobody reads protects nobody.
The self-hosted, open-source version is a different thing and these terms do not apply to it — it is governed by its licence (AGPL-3.0) and by nothing else.
1. What GammaGrid is
A dashboard that collects public options-market data and computes things from it: dealer gamma exposure, max pain, open interest, implied volatility surfaces and per-contract history. It shows numbers. What to do about them is entirely yours.
2. It is not investment advice, and this is not boilerplate
GammaGrid does not give investment advice, recommendations, or signals. Nothing in the service is an offer or solicitation to buy or sell anything, and nothing in it is tailored to your circumstances, because we know nothing about your circumstances.
Every figure shown is a calculation over public market data, produced by code you can read. "Dealer gamma exposure" in particular is an approximation built on an assumption about who is on which side of a trade; the service says so where it is displayed, and it can be wrong. Options can lose their entire value, and frequently do.
If you need advice, ask someone licensed to give it. That is not us.
3. The data comes from elsewhere, and may be wrong
Market data is obtained from third-party sources. It can be delayed, incomplete, or simply incorrect, and gaps happen — some are visible in the service itself, which shows when a collection failed rather than hiding it.
We do not guarantee that any number is accurate, current or complete, and we are not the source of the underlying data. Do not use GammaGrid as your only input to a decision that costs money.
4. Beta, and free while it lasts
GammaGrid is in beta. That means, concretely:
- features change, appear and disappear without notice;
- things break, and some are broken right now in ways we have not found;
- your data can be lost. We take daily backups and have restored from them
successfully, and we still do not promise that nothing will ever go missing;
- there is no uptime commitment, no support commitment and no service level of
any kind.
It is free to use during the beta. We may introduce paid plans later. If we do, we will say so before anything you already use starts costing money, and we will not silently start charging.
5. Your account
Sign in with Google or GitHub. Keep access to that account secure — anyone who controls it controls your GammaGrid account.
One account per person. Do not share it, and do not use the service through somebody else's.
Signing in also means we may email you about the product — new views, fixed bugs, things worth knowing. We send these through Postmark; every one carries a one-click unsubscribe. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
6. What you may not do
- resell, redistribute or republish the market data the service shows;
- scrape, crawl or automate the service, or use it through anything other than
a browser;
- try to break it, overload it, or get at other people's data;
- use it where doing so breaks the law that applies to you.
If you do any of these, we may suspend or delete your account. For a service this size that decision is made by a person, and you can write and argue about it.
7. Your content
Your watchlist and pinned contracts belong to you and we do not claim anything over them. We store and process them to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Feedback you send us we may act on freely — fix the bug, build the feature — without owing you anything for it.
8. Ending it
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account: hello@gammagrid.io.
We may suspend or end access if the service closes, or in the case of section 6. If we close the service, we will give notice and time to export what matters to you.
9. Liability
GammaGrid is provided as is, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for trading losses, lost profits, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using the service or being unable to use it. The service is free; nothing in these terms is intended to create a financial liability out of a free tool.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death, personal injury, or fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
10. The open-source version
The code is published under AGPL-3.0. You may run it yourself, for any purpose, under the terms of that licence. Doing so is entirely separate from these terms: it is your machine, your database and your responsibility, and we provide no service and no warranty in connection with it.
11. Changes, and which law applies
We may update these terms. The date at the top moves whenever we do, and material changes will be announced in the service before they take effect.
Governing law is not yet stated here, deliberately. The operating entity behind GammaGrid is being settled, and jurisdiction follows the entity; naming a country before that would mean naming one at random and changing it later. This section will be completed then. In the meantime, mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply and are not affected by their absence here.
